PALACIO ALMUDÍ

Los niños de 5º de primaria hemos ido a visitar el palacio Almudí frente al paseo del Malecón.

  5th level class visited Almudí Palace which is located in from of  Paseo del Malecón.


                                       

Esta es la fachada del palacio  del Almudí y es de estilo barroco.
Este Palacio se construyó en  el siglo XVII por el rey Alfonso X. 

  This is Almudí Palace façade and it is Baroque in style.
Almudí Palace was built during XVII century by King Alfonso X.



                                          

El escudo que está encima de la puerta principal, es el de la familia real de los Habsburgo, que era la monarquía reinante cuando se construyó el edificio en el siglo XVII.

 

 The coat of arms is above the front door. It belongs to the Habsburgo Royal Family.

It was the reigning monarchy when the palace was built.

La puerta del palacio Almudí es muy grande y alta para que pudieran pasar los carros de grano.  

El Palacio antes era un deposito de granos compra-venta de grano y cereales etc... 

Almudí Palace main door is very big and tall so vintage cars with grain could go in.

Almudí Palace was a grain store for the sale of grain harvests and so on…

En el interior hay una sala con columnas  muy bonitas con arcos de medio punto y de estilo barroco.

  Inside the Palace, there is a main room with very beautiful columns and half point arches Baroque in style.



Estas escaleras son el paso a la segunda planta. 

Antiguamente había un tercer piso, pero el edificio no podía aguantar tanto peso y se tuvo que derribar.

 

This staircase is the way up to the second floor.

In the past, there was a third floor but the building structure could not properly bear the weight so they brought down the third floor.



 Antes de que fuera un deposito de grano, fue un almacén de pólvora pero en el 1612 cayo un rayo en el palacio y con la pólvora explotó. La reconstrucción acabó en el 1618. 

  Before being a grain store, Almudí Palace was a gunpowder store but a lightning hit it in 1612 and the palace blew up. The palace rebuilding finished in 1618.

En la sala de las columnas que es la principal se conservan algunas columnas originales.

Hay una pared de esta sala que fue parte de la muralla de Murcia.

  In the main room with columns, some of them are the original ones preserved.

There is a wall in the room which is a part of the remains of the old Murcia city-wall.

Ahora el Palacio Almudí, es un edificio municipal dependiente del ayuntamiento. También una biblioteca, y el archivo municipal.

  Nowadays, Almudí Palace is a municipal building which depends on the Town Hall. It is also a library and a city archive.

En la fachada del Palacio hay un medallón de la Matrona de Murcia, que representa la hospitalidad de la tierra murciana.
 

 On the main facade of the palace is a medallion Matron of Murcia, which represents the hospitality of Murcia land.

 El Palacio Almudí es un edificio de gran interés artístico.
 

Almudí Palace is a building highly interesting in the city artistic and cultural heritage.
