Los alumnos de 4º de primaria hemos visitado el Museo Salzillo de Murcia.

4th primary school children have visited the Salzillo Museum in Murcia.

El Museo Salzillo es un edificio antiguo que tiene esculturas de Salzillo. Era un escultor del barroco que murió hace tiempo. Nació en Murcia, en la plaza de Santa Isabel en el año 1707, y su padre era italiano.
The Salzillo Museum is an old building that has sculptures of Salzillo. He was a sculptor of the  Baroque who died long ago. He was born in Murcia in Santa Isabel Square in the year 1707, his father was italian.

Salzillo hizo la Dolorosa porque su mujer perdió a su hijo, y el rostro de dolor de esta escultura está inspirado en la tristeza de su esposa. 

Las esculturas de Salzillo son muy realistas y detalladas y de estilo barroco. Están realizadas en madera.

Salzillo made our Lady of Sorrows because his wife lost her son, and the face of the pain of this sculpture is inspired by the sadness of his spouse.
Salzillo sculptures are very realistic and detailed, and Baroque style. They are made of wood.

La procesión de los Salzillos sale en Semana Santa, el viernes santo por la mañana. Este es el paso de la cena y es uno de los que salen en esta procesión y de los más pesados.

Hay muchos pasos más que salen en la procesión, llegando a hacer toda la pasión completa de Jesús

La vida y obra de Salzillo se vieron pronto envuelta en leyendas populares.
The procession of ¨The Salzillos¨comes out in Holy week, good Friday morning. This is the processional work of ¨The Dinner¨and is one of those that appear in this procession and one of the heaviest.
There are many more processsional works that they leave in the procession to make all the full passion of Jesus.
The life and works of Salzillo were soon wrapped in folktales.

El Museo está pegado a la iglesia de Jesús. Algunas de sus obras están en la iglesia de Nuestro Padre Jesús. Hay una puerta desde el Museo por la que se accede a la iglesia.

Dentro de la iglesia hay un Cristo al que se le ponen todos los años capullos de seda porque en la huerta de Murcia era típico criarlos. De él se obtenía la seda para hacer los mantones, y era una forma de pedir una bendición para que la crianza de los gusanos fuera abundante. 

Salzillo es tan importante porque es uno de los mejores escultores del mundo, y porque en Murcia dejó muchas obras que forman parte de la cultura de nuestra ciudad.

The Museum is attached to the Church of Jesus. Some of his works are in the church of Nuestro Padre Jesús. There is a door from the Museum that leads to the Church.
Inside the church there is a Christ who has annually cocoons of silk because it was typical to raise them in the garden of Murcia. It was obtained the silk to make shawls, and was a way to ask for a blessing so that the breeding of worms were abundant.
Salzillo is so important because he is one of the best sculptors of the world . He left in Murcia many works which are part of the culture of our city.

Este es un belén napolitano del siglo XVIII. Valorado en un millón de euros. Es una colección de piezas que la recogieron los hermanos Castro. 

This is a Neapolitan Nativity scene of the 18th century. It is valued at a million euros. It is a collection of pieces that Castro brothers collected from all over the world.

 Este es el belén de Salzillo que está hecho entero de barro, excepto el Niño Jesús que está hecho de madera. Los ángeles son de color amarillo, azul y rojo porque son los colores primarios, para llamar la atención.
This is the crib of Salzillo which is made entirely of mud, except the child Jesus which is made of wood. Angels are red, blue and yellow because they are the primary colors to draw attention.
